In this article, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to remove and replace the battery in your Nokē ONE device to keep it functioning smoothly. Regular battery maintenance ensures uninterrupted operation, so it's essential to know how to handle replacements when needed. To make the process even easier, we’ve included a step-by-step video tutorial below, demonstrating how to safely remove the old battery and install a new one. Follow along with the video or the written instructions to complete the replacement quickly and correctly.Changing a Battery
You can quickly change the Nokē ONE battery using the removal tool. You should only use the battery supplied with Nokē ONE. Do not attempt to use other batteries as they will not have the necessary voltage, current, and capacity required for optimal performance.
To change the battery,
- Slide the removal tool onto the Nokē ONE hasp lock so that the edge of the tool and the left edge of Nokē ONE connect.
- While tightly holding the removal tool in place, use the opposite hand to firmly push in battery holder to release it.
- Insert the battery into the battery holder. Make sure that the positive end of the battery is facing to the right.
- With the battery in its holder, reinsert the holder back into the Nokē ONE hasp lock. Press firmly on the top and bottom to ensure that both hooks engage.
After replacing the battery, ensure the device is removed from your low-battery list, if applicable, by reviewing the steps in Replacing Batteries and Updating the Web Portal.
Testing the Lock
Before adding the Nokē ONE hasp lock to the Nokē Smart Entry system and receiving its
digital key, you’ll want to test it by manually unlocking it.
To test the lock,

- After touching three times, the light turns green to indicate that the Nokē ONE device is now ready for unlocking.
- Slide the hasp left to the open position and right to lock it. The light turns red to confirm the device is locked.
