Storing personal items at the facility where you work can be convenient, but managing both your employee and tenant roles in the Nokē Storage Smart Entry system requires a few best practices to maintain security and functionality.


Option 1: Use Separate Logins

The simplest approach is to maintain separate logins for your employee and tenant accounts.

  • Why:
    Each account type has unique functionalities tailored to either managing the facility or accessing personal storage.

  • How to Set Up:

    1. Use your work email address for the employee account.
    2. Use your personal email address and phone number for the tenant account.
  • Switching Accounts:

    • Navigate to Settings in the app.
    • Log out of one account.
    • Log in to the other account using the relevant credentials.

💡 Pro Tip: Use separate devices to simplify switching:

  • An office tablet or iPad for your manager account.
  • Your personal smartphone for your tenant account.

Option 2: Integrated Employee Rentals

Nokē Smart Entry also supports employees renting units at their own facility, allowing them to manage both roles seamlessly from a single account using the manager's mobile app.

Getting Started with Employee Rentals:

  1. Enable Employee Rentals:

    • In the NSE system, activate the "Allow Employee Rental" setting.
  2. Finalize in the Property Management System (PMS):

    • Ensure the employee's email and phone number in the PMS match their profile in the NSE system.
  3. Log In:

    • Employees use their existing manager credentials to access the app.

Key Features for Employee Rentals:

  • The manager's mobile app interface remains unchanged, except for an additional Unlock button visible only for the employee's rented unit.
  • Employees retain full functionality to manage the facility while accessing their unit.

Digital Key Sharing for Employee Units:

If an employee renting a unit wishes to share digital access (e.g., with family or friends), contact Nokē Smart Entry Support to enable the digital key sharing feature.


Option 3: Share Access with Management

If switching between accounts feels cumbersome, consider sharing access to your tenant unit with the facility's management account.

  • How to Share Access:

    • From your tenant account, use the app's sharing feature to grant access to your unit.
  • Benefits:

    • Your tenant unit can be unlocked directly from the manager interface, similar to a vacant unit.
    • All actions on your tenant unit are tracked in the tenant's activity log.

⚠️ Caution:
Shared access allows any employee with management permissions to unlock your unit. Review your facility's policies before selecting this option.
