Syncing a Fob for a Tenant

How to Sync Fobs and Resolve Functionality Issues

Syncing a Fob for a Tenant

If a tenant's fob is experiencing issues or is not functioning as expected, syncing the fob can often resolve the problem by updating its programming. Syncing ensures that the fob is properly connected to the system and is aligned with any updates or changes made to the tenant’s account. Follow the steps below to sync a fob using the Nokē manager's mobile app. Be sure to check if a firmware update is needed, especially if your facility has the 'Fobs Follow User Schedule' setting enabled. This will ensure that the fob is correctly updated and ready for use.

If a tenant's fob is not working as expected, it may need to be synced.

To sync a fob:

  1. Log in to your manager's mobile app account.
  2. Refresh the app to ensure the latest data is loaded.
  3. Tap the Settings menu (three horizontal lines).
  4. Select Sync Fob for Tenant.
  5. Ensure the fob is within range and give it a quick squeeze.
  6. Follow the app’s instructions to complete the sync.

Note: Fobs may require firmware updates depending on your facility settings. Check that the 'Fobs Follow User Schedule' is enabled if applicable.

Facility Settings Related to Fobs

Three Key Settings for Managing Fobs in Your Facility
There are three important facility settings related to fobs:

  1. Allow Service Fobs: This setting must be enabled to allow fobs to be assigned to service or vendor-type users.
  2. Use Blacklist: This setting deactivates fobs for delinquent tenants or those who have moved out. It’s essential for tracking access and preventing unauthorized entry.
  3. Fobs Follow User Schedule: This setting lets you choose whether fobs adhere to a universal schedule or an individual user schedule. Enabling this feature may require firmware updates for older fobs.
