Updating the Latest Date for Battery Replacements

We've updated the low battery process at your facility.

The pop-up below alerts you to low batteries at your facility. It only displays once a day if there is at least one unit with a low battery. This displays the 'Number of Units currently reporting low batteries' and the 'Number of Units that may contain batteries that were replaced'.

Click 'View' to take you to a 'Low Battery' page that displays a list of units currently reporting low batteries.
Click 'Close' to close the pop-up. It will reappear the following day if you still have units with low batteries.

Low Battery Page

We've added a 'Reporting low' and 'Batteries that are no longer low' table. 

The 'Reporting low' section indicates that you need to physically change the battery on this unit. Once the device reports to Nokē that the battery is no longer low, it will move from the 'Reporting low' section to the 'Batteries that are no longer low' section. This may take some time to move from one section to the next.

If you have the 'Change Battery' permission enabled you can mark the battery as 'Replaced' or 'Not Replaced'. 

Replaced
Use this when you have replaced a low battery with a new one. This removes the unit from all 'Low Battery' reports and will not report again for 30 days. This allows enough time to recalibrate and report the correct battery voltage. If the battery reports low again after 30 days, the unit is added back to the list.

Not Replaced
Sometimes batteries incorrectly report low due to certain factors like cold weather. Click 'Not Replaced' to remove the unit from the list. However, if the battery reports low again, the unit returns to the list immediately, without the 30-day block.

Also, you can click the 'View Details' icon on the 'Low Battery Unit Controllers' widget to access the 'Low Battery' page.

 

Clicking that icon will take you back to the Low Battery Page.

Accurate Battery Tracking

When the unit was marked as 'Replaced' on the previous step, the 'Battery Replaced Date' is updated on the 'Unit Controllers' details page, as illustrated below. This helps you to more accurately track the lifespan of a battery. 

Note: Battery replacements do not create an activity event and will not show up on your 'Activity' page. 

Permission Needed

  • Manage Locks (to view date in the Web Portal)
  • Change Battery (to use Replace Battery)
